Our First Grant, Our First Pilot: Revitalising Civic Life in Monfalcone

We are thrilled to announce that we have received our very first grant from the Civic Innovation Fund by THE CIVICS Innovation Hub and Robert Bosch Stiftung.

This grant will support us in developing our pilot program on community revitalisation, democracy resilience and civic education in Monfalcone, Italy. The focus will be on our workshop series MICRO*ONDE, which we'll now develop and iterate further to continue mobilising community participation and democratic values.

In 2025, we began planting powerful seeds in a profoundly civic hostile and community desertified context.

We have explored formats and strategies to bring the people back to the frontline of the civic life, learning more about what works and doesn't in a context that's deeply polarised and underresourced.

This grant means more than just trust in our vision. It means that small towns like Monfalcone are at the heart of the wider European democracy activism landscape, receiving attention and support from partners who can truly make a difference in enabling change.

Our one-year Project, MICRO*ONDE, will reawaken participatory democracy and civic imagination in Monfalcone. Co-designed with young local facilitators from Collettivo Onda, the project creates space for residents to gather, express themselves, and imagine an inclusive future together.

It offers four immersive workshops exploring identity, participation, equality, and future-making, blending artistic expression, experiential learning, and co-design.

A year-long hybrid campaign transforms their ideas into public dialogue through pop-up exhibitions, creative street actions, posters, and digital storytelling—challenging polarisation and sparking new conversations.

We are beyond grateful to our partners, and excited to execute this project and continue committing towards a more resilient, inclusive and community-led democracy in Europe.

Stay tuned for more updates about our project in 2026!
