The Making of Community
A collective storytelling journey into the fabric of community cohesion across the Euro-Mediterranean region
Across the region, civic spaces are becoming more fragile. Polarisation, shrinking civic space, social fragmentation, inequalities and declining trust in institutions are weakening people's opportunities to participate in shaping the places where they live. Yet communities are not passive within these transformations. Young people, women, grassroots groups, organisers and ordinary citizens are experimenting with ways to rebuild connection, exercise agency and mobilise local resources.
A community-led program documenting how people are protecting and strengthening civic life across the Euro-Mediterranean region
The Making of Community is a co-creative reporting and storytelling project led by Commonground Initiatives, in collaboration with aidóni, an independent journalism collective, and grassroots community groups across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
